Analytics question library

Turn learning activity into a useful next step. Open Workspace Assistant and ask a specific question about a workspace, group, course, learner, assignment, or assessment. Replace the example names with your own; the assistant uses the records your role can access.

Start with a clear scope

  1. Open the intended workspace and its Analytics page, or open a group and choose Analytics.
  2. Open Workspace Assistant.
  3. Name the course, group, learner, or assignment. Include the reporting month when asking for monthly activity.
  4. Ask for the metric definitions alongside the answer, then follow the relevant course, learner, or assessment detail.
  5. For an answer you want to revisit, build a saved custom report.

For example: “For the Product onboarding course in the Week one group, show unit completion, average test score, and tracked time. Identify the topics with the lowest completion and scores.”

Workspace activity and creation

Ask What the answer measures
“Summarize our monthly activity for September 2026.” Learners starting and completing learning, course activity, active creators, content starts, and first publications.
“How many members, courses, and completions do we have?” Workspace headline counts.
“Compare performance across our courses.” Per-course performance rows.
“Show assigned and completed course counts for each learner.” Learner roster and completion counts.
“Who has assigned coursework but no completions?” The needs-attention cohort.
“Who has the highest completion ratio?” Learners ranked by completed versus assigned work.

Monthly reporting uses calendar months in the America/New_York timezone. The current month is month to date. Ask for a month in YYYY-MM form when you want an unambiguous period.

Course, unit, and topic progress

Ask Scope and detail
“Summarize class performance in Product onboarding.” A course-wide performance rollup.
“List every assigned learner's progress, scores, and status in Product onboarding.” Course detail; optionally narrow to a group.
“Compare the units in Product onboarding by completion, test score, and time.” Per-unit completion, average test score, and average tracked time; optionally a group.
“Which topics in the Getting started unit need attention?” Topic completion, average quiz score, and tracked time; optionally a group.
“Rank the hardest topics in Product onboarding.” Topics with low completion and low scores; optionally a group and a result limit.
“Show Jordan's unit, topic, and activity progress in Product onboarding.” One learner's breakdown, including tracked time compared with the team average.
“Show Jordan's quiz and test scores and activity completion.” Learner performance across courses, or within a named course.
“List course completion events for the Week one group.” Completion records; can also filter by course or learner. Ask for all pages when exporting a complete list.

Assignments and timely support

Ask Scope and detail
“Summarize the Week one onboarding assignment.” Assignees, completion, weak units, and struggling topics for one assignment.
“Who has not started Product onboarding, is behind, or has low test scores?” Course risk groups, optionally narrowed to a group. You can specify progress and score thresholds.
“Which incomplete assignments are past their due date?” Overdue assignments; optionally restrict by course or group.
“Who takes the most and least tracked time to finish?” Average tracked completion time by learner, optionally within a group.
“How many learners were active each day over the last seven days?” Daily training activity, optionally for a group.

Tracked learning time measures recorded activity. Use it alongside completion and assessment results when planning support.

Quizzes, tests, and individual answers

Ask What to name
“Show the score distribution for the Getting started unit test.” A specific unit test.
“Show the score distribution for the Product basics quiz.” A specific quiz activity.
“Which questions did this cohort miss most often?” The quiz or test, and optionally the group. Results rank question-level wrong-answer rates.
“Show Jordan's answers on this test attempt.” Learner, quiz or test, and optionally a particular attempt.

Open the underlying question or attempt to pair aggregate scores with the learner's actual response.

Practice modes and projects

Ask Scope and detail
“Which learning modes does this cohort use?” Percentage of learners using each modality; optional course, learner, or group scope.
“How much time does this cohort spend in each learning mode?” Recorded time by modality with the same scope options.
“Compare scenario completion, attempts, and best scores in Product onboarding.” Scenario project results for a course, optionally a unit or group.
“Show Jordan's scenario evaluation and transcript.” Learner and scenario project; optionally a particular attempt.
“Show Jordan's submitted project and rubric result.” Learner and project; includes applicable form responses and submission details.
“Show the creator-review feedback and acknowledgment for this submission.” Creator and video-review project, including the review conversation.

Explore retention and learner-initiated learning

Use the analytics page for additional visual views:

  1. On workspace Analytics, review Member-initiated learning to understand learning learners started themselves.
  2. Open a course's analytics and review its retention card when retention is enabled. Compare the completion baseline with later checks, answered/passed/skipped checks, and the goals most frequently missed.
  3. Open a learner within a course to review goal mastery. The goal grid shows the latest evidence across quiz, test, refresher, and flashcard activity.
  4. Use these patterns to choose a topic to reinforce or an activity to revise.

Keep a recurring answer on the dashboard

Try this in Dashboard → Custom Reports → Add widget:

Create a learning activity report with total members and a table of courses showing enrollments, completions, and completion rate. Explain each metric and keep learner-level details out of the summary.

Choose Build it, review the saved result, and use Refresh now or Edit with AI from its options. See Analytics and Reporting for the complete walkthrough and refresh controls.
